The province of VCO covers an area from North-East Piedmont and borders Switzerland and Lombardy. VCO includes the areas of Ossola, Verbano, Cusio and Vergante, ideal destinations for a quality holiday. There are places of great natural beauty, breath-taking landscapes, as well as culture and food and wine: of particular importance are the “Sesia Val Grande” geopark and the Sacred Mounts of Orta and Ghiffa which are recognised by UNESCO, as well as the enchanting lakes Maggiore, Orta and Mergozzo. Here there are lots of opportunities to do summer and winter sports which demonstrate the interest and needs of tourists and inhabitants who can discover and enjoy the context all year round.

The capital of the province of VCO is the city of Verbania with 30,505 inhabitants located on the western shore of Lake Maggiore. Verbania is a popular tourist destination given its privileged geographical position: of particular interest are the botanical gardens of Villa Taranto and Villa S. Remigio. Given the abundance of gardens and terraces it is known as the garden of the lake.

The entire district, primarily Verbania, is implementing initiatives to increase connections in the area through the development of sustainable mobility with the utmost regard for the environment.
