MOBSTER goes to Eurobike

3 September 2021 from 14.00h to 15.00h CEST

EUROBIKE is the leading trade show for the bike business in Europe. This year’s edition will take place in Friedrichshafen (Switzerland) from the 1st to the 4th of September 2021 and will host a series of talks dedicated to the latest trends in the tourism and cycling sectors.

Wolfram Sparber, coordinator of the MOBSTER Project and Director of the Institute for Renewable Energy of Eurac Research will participate in the session “MTB as a strategy to reuse infrastructure” on Friday, the 3rd of September from 14.00h to 15.00h CEST. In this session we dive into the various re-use options for cycling tourism, especially mountain biking. What to do with existing infrastructure when it comes to skiing regions in the Alps or other old infrastructure that could be reused and given a new function and purpose? Will the spread of e-bikes result in an increase in the demand for new infrastructure? What are the constraints and opportunities for sustainable tourism?

Speakers:

  • Wolfram Sparber, Director of the Institute for Renewable Energy of Eurac Research
  • Stéphane Bubel, Mountain bike tourism consultant
  • Nico Graff, Mountainbike Tourismus Forum

The session will be held in English. Further information on the event
